Beth Hart, The Script, and Marija Šerifović headline the lineup for an edition that brings together the international music scene and Timișoara’s cultural organizations
Timișoara is gearing up for four days of concerts, cultural experiences, sports, art, heritage, and community-focused activities. From July 31 to August 3, 2026, Timișoara City Celebration will transform the city into a vast urban stage, featuring 203 free events held in Civic Park, I.C. Brătianu Park and Boulevard, the Uszoda area, Nicolae Titulescu Promenade, Victoriei Square, and over 30 other venues throughout Timișoara. Under the theme “One City. A Thousand Ways to Experience It,” this year’s edition celebrates the communities, cultures, generations, and forms of expression that define Timișoara’s contemporary identity. The musical program kicks off with three international headliners performing in Timișoara for the first time: American artist Beth Hart, Irish band The Script, and Marija Šerifović, one of the most acclaimed voices in Southeast Europe.
On Friday, July 31, Beth Hart will take the main stage on I.C. Brătianu Boulevard for a concert eagerly awaited by fans in Timișoara. A Grammy nominee and renowned for the intensity of her live performances, the American artist has a career spanning nearly three decades, over 600 million streams on digital platforms, and collaborations with artists such as Slash, Joe Bonamassa, and Eric Gales.
On Saturday, August 1, The Script will perform one of the most anticipated concerts of the festival. The Dublin-based band, known for hits such as “Hall of Fame,” “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved,” “Breakeven,” “Nothing,” and “Superheroes,” is coming to Timișoara for the first time, after two decades of international success and billions of online streams.
On Sunday, August 2, Marija Šerifović, winner of the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, will close out the series of major international concerts on I.C. Brătianu Boulevard. The artist is one of the most prominent voices in the former Yugoslav region, acclaimed for the power of her performances and the special connection she builds with her audience.
Alongside the international headliners, the main stage will feature established artists and representatives of the new generation from Romania and the Republic of Moldova. Irina Rimes, Satoshi, and Dora Gaitanovici will round out Saturday night’s lineup, while Alexandra Căpitănescu and the Timișoara-based band JazzyBIT & K-lu will take the stage on the first day of the event. Sunday’s program will bring together Romanian pop music and the region’s cultural heritage through performances by Monica Anghel, Nico, and Daniel Iordăchioaie, alongside the Timișul Ensemble and folk music artists Andreea Voica, Alexandru Brădățan, Aurora, and Săndel Mihai.
A platform for Timișoara's music and creative scene
Timișoara City Celebration is strengthening its role as a platform for promoting the local music and creative scene, bringing together in a single program the artists, festivals, and organizations that shape the city’s cultural identity throughout the year. In Civic Park and I.C. Brătianu Park, Psihodrom, Muzicon Hub, Time to Rock by FITT, CODRU, Guilty Corner, AnonimTM, Embargo Hub, and JAZZx are hosting concerts, showcases, and experiences dedicated to their communities, providing visibility to local and independent artists and transforming Timișoara City Celebration into a true showcase of Timișoara’s creativity.
Sport Club Municipal Timișoara Gets the City Moving
Between July 31 and August 2, the area around Uszoda and Spaliul Nicolae Titulescu will be transformed into a space dedicated to sports and outdoor activities, featuring competitions, demonstrations, and activities for all ages. The program features 3x3 basketball, rugby, and handball tournaments, as well as recreational activities organized by the Timișoara Municipal Sports Club and local sports organizations. AnonimTM rounds out the program with skateboarding, BMX, and scooter competitions, introductory sessions, and a discussion focused on the future of the Timișoara Skatepark. By temporarily transforming public spaces, Timișoara City Celebration envisions a city where the streets become places for gathering, physical activity, and community participation.
“Meraviglia” transforms Victoriei Square with water, fire, and aerial acrobatics
On the evenings of August 1 and 2, Victoriei Square will become the stage for the show “Meraviglia | Dancing Fountains, Flames, and Aerial Acrobatics”, an impressive production that combines water, fire, light, music, video projections, and aerial acrobatics. Created by The Aerial Acrobats of Sonics and Viorica Water & Fire, under the coordination of BlueX Creative Collective, the show transforms the center of Timișoara into a spectacular visual universe. Following its participation in the closing ceremony of the Timișoara – European Capital of Culture 2023 program, BlueX returns with a creation designed specifically for the urban space, built around emotion, imagination, and beauty.
The city becomes an open stage for culture
Beyond the concerts and the event’s main stages, Timișoara City Celebration extends to neighborhoods and cultural venues throughout the city through projects funded by the Municipality of Timișoara, via the Project Center, as part of the “Culture Now” and “Landmarks in Culture” programs. From Kuncz, Fabric, and Braytim to the Citadel, Maria Square, or the banks of the Bega River, local cultural organizations are offering guided tours, installations and exhibitions, artistic interventions, performances, creative workshops, participatory experiences, and projects dedicated to heritage, memory, literature, science, and new technologies, transforming the city into an open laboratory of creativity and participation.
The “Timișoara City Celebration” event is funded by the City of Timișoara and coordinated and co-organized by the Center for Projects and the House of Culture.
