In just three days, August 1–3, Timișoara brought together over 84,600 people for the largest edition to date of Timișoara City Celebration. With 197 events held in public spaces and 65,000 spectators at the main venue—Civic Park and I.C. Brătianu Boulevard—Timișoara City Celebration has established itself as one of the most successful events in Romania’s urban landscape, growing in scale and appeal year after year.
Vineri, publicul a fost cucerit de concertul susținut de James Bay, aflat pentru prima dată în România. Sâmbătă, MIKA a oferit un show memorabil, coborând în mijlocul mulțimii:
“An incredible moment, full of energy and love, right in the heart of Timișoara. What an unforgettable night!”
Among the audience were fans who had traveled from the Czech Republic, Italy, Bulgaria, and various cities in Romania; some arrived at the venue as early as 8 a.m. to secure spots in front of the stage. Afterward, several fans from the Czech Republic said: “It was the best MIKA show we’ve ever been to—artistically, in terms of sound, and energy. Nowhere else have we ever felt such care from the organizers. Thank you, Timișoara!”. On Sunday, Bajaga i Instruktori and a water show on the Bega Canal—presented for the first time in Romania by the French company Ilotopie—brought the 2025 edition to a close.
“It is one of the legacy events of the European Capital of Culture, and because it is a great celebration of the creativity and involvement of Timișoara’s residents, starting this year it is being held in conjunction with Timișoara Day. I’m glad we’ve been able to build on the success of this formula, and the number of participants continues to grow year after year. I’d like to thank all my colleagues involved in the flawless organization—from the Center for Projects and the House of Culture—as well as the hundreds of volunteers who supported us.”
The program featured local artists and bands, jazz, rock, and folk music events, DJ sets, performances, and workshops. The event was accessible to people with disabilities, with sign language interpretation provided.
The “Timișoara City Celebration” event is funded by the City of Timișoara and coordinated and co-organized by the Center for Projects and the House of Culture. The next edition will take place from July 31 to August 3, 2026.
